Many Starcraf fans have noticed the region-locked problem of Starcraft II. Blizzard has released Starcraft II in 7 editions of the world: North America, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, Korea, Taiwan, Russia.
"if you're a European player and you've got friends that are in another region that you want to be able to connect with, we definitely want to support that," although "it might mean that you have to access it through the US client."
if you want to play against people in different regions, be prepared to buy multiple versions (one for each region you want to play in) and multiple battle.net accounts.
Besides, it is said that Southeast verion of Starcraft II may be allowed to choose the server between southeast and North American server after 2 months of the releasement.
